"I did confess; but I confessed a lie. I confessed, that I might obtain absolution..." (Shelley 77).
Here, Justine has confessed to a murder that she did not commit.
Because of the fact that she lied, can Justine truly call this a "confession"? If not, what characteristics disqualify this as a "confession"?
Blogging gives us a special occasion to think about both the way in which electronic rhetoric alters written communication as well as e-rhetoric's modern connection to both classified and open interaction. Also, maintaining a blog permits you to use text to investigate topics linked to digital society, to hone your analytical ability, and to contribute in a larger community conversation.

Your thoughts as well...
Using Frankenstein as evidence, which is the greater wrong: telling a deliberate lie
or withholding the truth? Are the
consequences the same or different? What
justification, if any, is there for doing either?
Your thoughts...
Why might
Shelley have used a prolonged illness, in a sense, to separate Victor from the
creature?

Ponder this too...
Why
is Walton exploring the arctic? What is his internal motivation? What social
commentary does Shelley make about this journey?
Ponder this...
How does Shelley develop the idea of the responsibilities of friendship from the letters to chapter 5?
