Fight or Flight...

Does the possibility of a bad outcome warrant neglect, abandonment, or quitting of the situation? What are some experiences that have led to you this belief? What factors come into play when a person decides to essentially abandon a task, being, or situation? Discuss accordingly using experiences, movies or literature you have read or seen.

  1. Unwanted experiences of an outcome can extract neglect of a situation. When my parents contradicts themselves into establishing their going to achieve something when they don’t. It makes the person feel dependent, disappointed, depressed, and/or regretful towards the abandoning of a bad outcome. Also Victor Frankenstein exhibits depression because of the abandoning of his creation Frankenstein."Mingled with this horror, I felt the bitterness of disappointment; dreams that had been my food and pleasant were now become a hell to me; and the change was so rapid, the overthrow so complete"(Shelley,57)

  2. If the possibility of a bad out come "warrants" neglect or abandonment is beyond is a difficult question to answer. There are many situations that would say that abandonment of a soon to be bad situation is smart and nessesary. However some bad situations will be worst once left, or leaving/neglecting is considered cowardly. There are experiences iv partaken in that lead me to this conclusion but alot of my "belief" comes from observed situations both in real life and in movies/television shows. In most cases, a persons safty in the near future helps them determine if he situation is worth staying in.
