  1. Frankenstein is a romantic text. According to the link provided "romantic" texts were a rebellion against "realistic" texts. While realistic texts were based on things that could really happen, romantic texts were based on creativity, imagination, etc. One thing that can distinguish a romantic text versus a realistic text is "Creative Energy/Power", which is shown much throughout Frankenstein. Throughout Frankenstein it is shown that "knowledge is power" and with having that power so much can be done. Also, creative energy is shown. Frankenstein had this creativity and with the knowledge of power he was able to bring to life this monster. Frankenstein is a romantic text.

  2. The article describes a romantic text as being "emotional" and having "outcasts". Frankenstein fits this description perfectly. Since being created, the monster felt as if he was an outcast in society. This feeling drives his emotions to the point of killing those in which he envied. Romantic texts are also known to be "revolutionary". Frankenstein is assumed to be the beginning of science fiction. In the novel itself, Victor's creation of the monster was revolutionary, the first of its kind.
