  1. Science imputed misery and desirable consequences in our society. The enhancement of technology has beneficial increase the interactions of humans. In the article written by William J Broad and James Glanz , "Does Science Matter" implies the evidence. "Through its rituals of discovery, science has extended life, conquered disease and offered new sexual and commercial freedoms."(Broad, 1) It essential to our society in progressing as well as creating new development. Though with new development arising it can expressed misconducting issues. " It has also come to fear the potential consequences of unfettered science and technology in areas like genetic engineering, germ warfare, global warming, nuclear power and the proliferation of nuclear arms."(Broad, 3) Science can cause misfortune. Even though science can cause misery, it can also promote our society.

  2. Science has advanced complications in everyday life and helped them. The society is now depended on technology between the actions of one or more persons. The article "Does Science Matter" showed the pro's and con's of the effect that science has put on society. Science was first doubted in the 1960's as to the cloning and environment movements. Now is looked at as a cornucopia between the good and bad of food.

  3. There is no doubt technology has assisted humans in everyday life. However many fail to realize the inconveniences that technology has brought to society. In the novel, the creation of the monster has brought Victor nothing but physical and emotional illness. "I lay for two months on the point of death [...] I called myself the murderer of William, of Justine, and of Clerval" (Shelley 157). While Victor made a breakthrough in the science field, it came at the expense of his well being. The negative effects of technology are also evident in real life situations. Many families are separated from one another as they try to secure a spot in line for Black Friday. The high demand for technology at low prices has caused a separation in traditional gathering of family members on Thanksgiving.

  4. Although science has helped with the progression of mankind, it has also become a great hindrance to the well being of mankind. Scientific discoveries such as harnessing nuclear power into weapons has caused nations to enter a race for nuclear weapons. These weapons are capable of destroying the entire earth with a push of a button. It may have been a great discovery but at the cost of billions of lives. Even cars have had a negative impact on the safety of earth. It's emissions of carbon monoxide has polluted the atmosphere especially in heavily populated areas, long term exposure can cause many health problems. These are all problems caused by the innovations of man. They were initially here to help but have countering effects.

  5. Scientific discoveries and technological advances have complicated human’s lives as well as enriched them. This can easily be proven with both Frankenstein and the ‘Does Science Matter’ article. “''There's obviously a kind of national split personality about these things,'' said Dr. Owen Gingerich, a historian of astronomy at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics who speaks often of his Christian faith”. Even scientists are having a hard time telling if science is benefitting or complicating the world. Although science has cured plenty of diseases it as also caused deadly ones.

  6. Technology has definatly complicated our lives. From personal experience one could say it pulls us away from one another for personal communication, clouds our minds with unnessasary information, opens the door of stress that wouldnt be there other wise and entertains us enough to not want to go out doors and excersize. However, technology has opened the door for nessesary medical advances, helps keep us organized and performing at our best in this ever changing world. All together, technology and humans have a give and take relationship.

  7. Technology has done a great job of both helping and complicating society. The pros of technology are seen everyday and so are the cons. Medicines are produced everyday that allow people with medical complications such as HIV and diabetes live relatively normal lives. Technology has also helped this generation believe it or not. Because of technology, students are able to get work done from multiple electronics in various places instead of being confined to only being able to do work at home. However, along with these pros come the cons. The social skills of the world are suffering because of technology. Nowadays, people find it easier to type a text on a phone or in a comment box than to have a conversation with their own grandmother. There have even been cases when I have witnessed two people sitting in the same room texting each other. It is up to the people of today to decide whether they want to focus on technology's pros or whether they want to let the cons take over.

  8. The advancement of technology has proved to be vital throughout history, such as the Airplanes, Railroads, Factories- they all support our demand for necessities, and they all deliver them. However, when technology is taken to a certain level, it can weaken mankind from it's original state. For example, there once was a time were kids played outdoors. A time were kids would leave their parents, and made sure they were in the house by the time the street lights came on. Once gaming consoles( Atari, Playstation, Xbox) developed and social networking sites( Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) arose, the majority of the kids weren't playing outside. The tradition was eventually overcome by technology, the era of the "insiders". And the major effect of all of this was, obesity, ignorance, and desensitization. Technology spares no one, what will be next.

  10. Technology is a bitter sweet thing. It has both enriched and complicated human life. Technology is pretty similar to knowledge, like the primary downfall in Frankenstein, technology is knowledge and knowledge is powerful, and too much knowledge is dangerous. Technology has enriched society with education, internet, medicine, and everyday living. But at the same time time just like in Frankenstein this is human down fall. Because technology and knowledge bring power there is this thirst and need for the knowledge and power. Humans are becoming obsessed with technology.

  12. Scientific discoveries does play a part in enriching one's environment but only for a short period of time.Once a person find an advancement to correct one area of error, it only opens the opportunity for an even worse epidemic. For example, the first sights of the flu was known as the Spanish flu in 1918. A being could feel fine in the morning but die by nightfall. It was an serious issue until an medical and technology advancement occurred to decrease the numbers of people being affected and dying from this epidemic. One would believe this was an enrichment and that was the end all their worries when actually it opened up the opportunity for something worse to develop such as a new flu virus identified in 1957. Advancements are both enrichment's and complications for humans but it will ALWAYS be an enrichment before it becomes an complication.

  13. It is evident that science and technology has greatly influenced society. However, along with its many advances, Science and technology has also made way for many complications in human's lives. In the article "Does Science Matter" researchers explain how individuals value the new developments, but they fear the possibilities of various areas of the world being effected. With time, areas including the environment, chemistry, and life were all experimented with causing more complications than what it upgraded.
